Must Have Travel Items

Heading off on your first backing trip soon? or looking to make your travel more efficient? Here are some must have travel products from Amazon.

These are all products I have used for my first backpacking trip to Australia. Some of these also come along to work with me as a flight attendant  so I hope they can be of use to you too.

Must Have Travel Bags

For my first long term travel trip I decided to go with this wheeled backpack from Hynes Eagle. I wanted to get a versatile bag that I could use for different occasions in the future. This bag is 43 + 20 litres so can be taken as a carry on with many airlines or the bigger bag can be checked luggage. This bag has two wheels and a handle so it can be used like a suitcase. Or a zipped panel in the bag contains backpack straps so it can also be carried as a rucksack. Another important feature is that the main back zips almost all the way open so you can reach all items in the bag easily.

Packing cubes are great for organisation when you travel. Compression packing cubes also help with saving space. I love these particular packing cubes as they come in 3 different sizes and one cube has a waterproof compartment for dirty clothes.

This wash bag is one of my favourite items at the moment and I use it all the time. I love this wash bag as the zip goes all the way across meaning the bag opens out flat allowing you to access everything inside easily. This means you don’t have to empty out all of your products to reach items at the bottom.

A dry bag is always useful if you think you will be doing water activities. You can keep all your items safe from splashes on boat trips or sand on beach days. This amazon product also comes with a waterproof phone case

If you don’t need a dry bag this listing is just for waterproof phone cases. I recommend everyone gets these as they are useful for many situations. Of course they help keep your phone safe for water activities but they are also helpful for rainy days and carrying your phone on you. I would recommend getting a black one though as they can get dirty easily.

Everyday Essentials

Micro Fibre Towels
Micro fibre towels are great for travel as they take up a lot less space and dry really quickly. A popular brand is Dock and Bay. They have lots of different towel options and fun designs. I also tried out a cheaper option from Rainberg that I have found to work just as well.

This fan is very useful to have in hot destinations and is great for people who struggle with hot weather. It has 3 different speed settings and can last for multiple hours.

I picked up a new pair of Bluetooth earphones for my trip as I am always listening to music! I decided to get a sport design pair as they are more secure and hopefully less likely to get lost if they fall out on a bus or plane.

This is currently the water bottle I use, I have the 750ml one. I like this bottles as it comes with 2 lids, normal and straw. I have also found it good to keep my drinks cool for a longer time. This bottle comes in multiple sizes and some great colour options.

A Few More Travel Favourites

Carabiner and S-biner
Carabiners are useful for attaching items to your bags, be it for keeping them safer or because they won’t fit inside. I also like to have an s-biner with me as these can be used to hang items or your bag up.

With carry on only travel becoming more popular I recommend getting yourself some of these liquid pouches. I particularly like this style of travel liquid bottles as they take up hardly any room and are very light. Being a slim design means they stack up easily next to each other in the security liquid bags.

Another new product I’ve loved having with me is this memory stick you can connect straight to your phone. I have a google phone so this memory stick has a usb-c end which plugs into my phone. (you can get these for other phone types too) This means I can transfer pictures and videos from my phone to the thumb drive for safe keeping whilst I travel.
