London is an amazing city to visit and explore, there are so many things to do and see. However, there are also so many things to check out around the rest of England. If you are visiting London here are some places you can visit nearby for a day trip out.
The South Coast
Leave the busy city centre of London for a day at the beach. You can reach some areas of the south coast of the UK from London via Train. One of the most popular coastal spots is the city of Brighton.
Brighton
This seaside town has so much to offer. From enjoying fish and chips on the beach to the streets filled with unique shops, there’s something for everyone. Brighton is just an hour from London on the train so you can plan a whole day of activities for your visit. Check out my post HERE on the best day out in Brighton.
South Downs National Park and Seven Sisters Cliffs
If you are looking to explore some more of nature, the south downs are a stretch of wooded hills and chalky cliffs in the south of England. The seven sisters is a range of cliffs in East Sussex which are an amazing view to see. If you plan to rent a car, this is a great place to explore with many different amazing views to discover.
Hastings
Hastings is another unique seaside town to visit a little further from London. My favourite thing to do in Hastings is enjoy the beach and spend some time in the many arcades but you could also explore the old town and visit the smuggler’s caves to learn more of the history of the town.
Thorpe Park or Chessington
For a more thrilling day out head to Thorpe park for a day of roller coasters and amusement park rides. Thorpe Park is home to Stealth which is the UK’s fastest roller coaster. You can easily spend a day here enjoying the attractions. If the big rollercoasters aren’t for you or you are traveling with children, Chessington World of Adventure might be a better pick for you. With some more family friendly rides and a zoo this is another great day out.
