Here are my three favourite multi purpose travel items for your next trip.
1. Scarf / Sarong
A scarf, sarong or light cover up is a must have for your next trip. These are great to tie onto your carry on luggage so you always have it near by.
– The first use is as an extra layer on the plane or transport. Many places have cold air con so something to cover your shoulders or legs is a great travel item.
– A cover up for temples, churches or religious sites.
– Something to sit on. Spontaneously ended up on the beach? Here’s your make shift beach towel.
2. Tote Bag
Many types of bags are obviously super helpful when you are traveling but I think the tote bag is the most versatile and also easy to throw into other bags when not in use.
– Shopping bag. If you want to save money whilst travelling its good to try and cook some of your own food, so remember your tote bag when you head to the local supermarket.
– Laundry bag.
– Beach bag. Heading out for a beach day, tote bags make for the perfect accessory.
3. Carabiners
Many full time travellers or backpackers like to keep some carabiners on the outside of their backpack for a number of reasons. These small items take up hardly any room but have many uses.
– Attach items to your backpack. They can be used to attach extra items or wet items to the outside of your bag. Got a pair of wet shoes you don’t want to put inside your rucksack? Use a carabiners to clip them to the outside.
– A bag holder. S shape carabiners can be used to hold a bag up off of the floor. Attach the bag to one side and the hook the other over a door or ledge.
– Make a washing line. With some rope a carabiner could clip to a tree to help dry your washing.
– Add keyrings to your bag. I always end up collecting some cute keychains when I travel and attaching them to a carabiner makes it easier to attach and change them between different bags.
